Clear Low in Sanitaryware

PLYMOUTH,IN – A new low “VOC” clear gelcoat for sanitaryware offers extreme clarity and contains less than 44 percent H.A.P.S., complying with M.A.C.T. 2004 standards for FRP, reports Marty Lester, sales manager of Ferro Corporation’s, Liquid Coatings and Dispersions Division

Designated “ULTRATM Clear Gelcoat”, the new formulation is reportedly free of yellow or pink undertones. It is also said to offer greater color stability than any previous gelcoat produced by the company, and to withstand higher thermal shock cycles.

The clear gelcoat is available in a range of cure times and viscosities. Recommended dry film thickness ranges from 12 to 20 mils.

The formulation is processed in an isolated clear gelcoat production room with dedicated process equipment to preclude contamination from cultured marble colorants also produced by the company.

Available in 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums, the new clear gelcoat has a shelf life of 90 days, and is intended for cultured marble sinks and vanity tops.
